Flight dynamics

Orbit determination

Computes where the bird is, where it's going, and the cheapest burn to keep it there.

Runs batch least-squares and Kalman filtering on every tracking pass. Outputs a state vector, a covariance, and a maneuver plan with Δv budget to the centimeter-per-second.

Autonomy

Onboard software

Writes the rules the spacecraft follows when nobody is listening. Paranoid by profession.

Every rule is a finite state machine with a verified safe-mode fallback. If two rules ever disagree, the spacecraft defaults to the most conservative action and waits for ground.

Link & scheduling

Owns every pass, every antenna booking, every byte from sky to disk.

Schedules across a network of ground stations with automatic conflict resolution. Tracks link margin in real time and reroutes when a station degrades.

Watch standing

The humans awake at 03:00 when a voltage line looks wrong. They've seen it before.

Follows runbooks written from past anomalies. Every alert has an owner, an escalation path, and a maximum time-to-acknowledge. Median response: 38 minutes.
